Okay so here's my review. I actually love this machine. I gave it 4 stars only because people who are as out of shape as I was when I first got on this machine will know just how out of shape they truly are. This machine on level 1 kicked my butt! I am now able to do the max interval workout as well as the fat burn & calorie burn workout. I have had the machine a little over 5 weeks now and I have dropped 23 pounds. I am following the nutritional plan that is included in the manual with the M5 and can say it has helped a lot. I eat a lot more lean meats, load up on vegetables because they are a smart carbohydrate, more water than what can fill a pool, and stay away from snack foods and trigger foods. The base is actually sturdy, some people may not know they can adjust the feet on the bottom. I haven't had the squealing noise come from the machine so I hope that doesn't happen. The one problem I have with the machine is the app you use with the M5. It just doesn't work wright sometimes. My wife has an iphone 6 and I have an htc one max. So both android and ios have some issues that need to be worked out. I'm also am not sure the calorie counter is accurate because I was at 279 pounds when I started and now I am at 256 pounds now and I can tell you it sure feels a lot more than 180 calories being burned in 15 minutes, but hey it may be right.
The pictures in the mirror is where I am today. The one with my wife and a friend are when I was my heaviest. The black vest makes me look thinner but trust me I was bigger than what the picture shows.

I use the product as a cardio addition to P90X. My wife uses the product to get exercise in despite her busy schedule. The product functions as expected. It's low impact without any joint issues. The burn rate display helps you maximize the training session. The app only works with iOS 8, which is problematic, and it only supports two users. The app really just keeps track of your workouts and synchs with MyFitnessPal. The calorie burn information is misleading. My wife burns about 100 calories in 14 minutes, and I burn about 200. It would take 30 minutes of solid effort to get up to what I would consider a real workout. That's still good, but not really any different than running for half an hour. I think they're coming up with the cardio burn by extrapolating the benefits of interval training. I'd still recommend the product, but it's not a miracle cure. It still requires a 30-60 minute time commitment, if it's going to be your only workout.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M5:
I am a 63 year old in what I think is good physical condition. I have been going to the gym for years. I loved doing the ARC trainer because it was low impact and I got a great cardio workout. I lead a very active life and lately getting to the gym has become an issue. When I do get there, it is always a trick to get an unoccupied ARC trainer. Then I saw this machine and knew I had to have it. I have had it about 3 weeks and have used it 5 out of 7 days each week. I get a great workout and calorie burn. I think this is just what I needed. Easy to move around. I bought the mat so it sits firmly. If you are thinking of adding a piece of equipment to your home gym, this is it!!

The max trainer is definitely a challenging workout. At first it was difficult for me but eventually I was able to build up to a full 15-20 minutes. I love the programmed workouts or just the ability to do a manual session.

Lower back pain and knee pain resulting from poor design. Using the upper hand grip position results in poor posture which has led to back pain and knee pain.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M5:
I went from 5 years of no exercise to an everyday 14 min a day moderate workout to get my heart rate up and I feel so much better, more energy, and have even dropped some pounds. I like to eat and work keeps me at a desk, thus this is a fantastic way to avoid paying for a gym membership I forget to use..
Pro's: easy to put together, nice looking sturdy equipment, easy to use, low impact, great preset workout options, novice user friendly.
Not easy to hide-store, though that's a positive in my household because I wake-up and go to bed seeing it everyday "I call it incentive".
