The M5 is more challenging and motivating than any other in-home cardio machine I've tried. I liken the exercise motion to charging up a hill while it is retreating away from you. The lower handle bars allow you stability and help you focus on your lower body, and the upper handle bars really engage the upper body, especially when shifting weight forward. It is fun to sprint as fast as you can, grind out a high resistance climb, or find the best combo of the two to get your max average calorie burn rate. The interval training is great, the other programs are nice for longer workouts, but for the money the best piece of technology is the calorie burn program. Say you want to burn between 15-20 calories per minute for thirty minutes. When you slow to the point where you are going to drop out of that range, the M5 automatically increases the resistance to increase the burn rate. Conversely, if you start going so fast as to exceed 20, it lowers the resistance to make the burn rate go down. The bluetooth app works great to keep a running log of your workouts with some nice graphs to show progress over time. The two cons of the machine are: 1) if you want to pause- you must stop completely in order to stay in a paused state or the machine will start going agin, and 2) cool down/ending- once a workout ends, it stops counting progress as you cool down; therefore you must either cool down during the program (it doesn't remind you to do this), or start another manual workout immediately after the program ends in order to keep counting calories for a few minutes was you cool off. I hope Nautilus can figure out a way to simplify this either as a firmware update or an update to the app. All in all, a great machine after three weeks. Its very sturdy and the frame is solid, so I don't expect to need warranty service. The footprint is small and you don't need much clearance when you are using the machine (I'm 5'11") Cheers! Great product!

The quality of the machine is good but it is not for the beginner, even at level one it is difficult to do for 14 minutes. I originally wanted the treadclimber and wish I would of bought that instead. the M5 is a cross between a stand up bike and stair stepper depending on the direction you go. I'll keep working at it since it is a pricey piece of equipment. I wish when I called to talk about the differences between the M5 and treadclimber of the two different people I spoke with one of them would of let me know the difficulty of the M5 for a beginner , if so, I would of push asked the treadclimber instead.

After waiting over 8 weeks for the product...it finally arrived. We put it together and it was pretty easy assembly, but our machines magnet was out of line and by the time it was repaired 3 more weeks had passed. But the machine itself is awesome and I get a great very low, if any, impact workout from it. It has lived up to my expectatiins

Definitely get this if you are looking for something to help you get back on track or if you want something that will build your endurance. Extremely satisfied with this machine and purchase.

This machine provides a major workout! I can go for 45 minutes on a regular elliptical but am just up to 8 minutes on the max after 2 weeks. However, my knees haven't felt this good in over 2 years. Thank you for providing a piece of exercise equipment my husband and I can afford & easily use regularly.

Great Workout, but does not burn twice the calories of a treadmill when using comparable effort levels. A person needs to check the hardware often to retighten loose bolts. Louder than expected. Easier to put together than expected just 1 hour. A definite step up from a recumbent bike but about the same as a treadmill.

Absolutely the best machine I've used. Have had it for a month & addicted to it. Used to use a treadmill, but was flaring up my gerd. Now my gerd is under control & feeling happy again. Ran on a treadmill for two years doing two miles five days a week. Currently doing fourteen minute workout five days a week. I sweat about the same, heart rate is higher, & feel like it's more of a workout then the treadmill. Would recommend this machine for sure!
