This machine is awesome! It's hard to not get addicted to. I try to stick to strength training (with my SelectTech 552's) one day, and jump on my M5 the next. I love the high-intensity interval training. I tried to do HIIT on my old elliptical but felt like I was going to fly off. My new M5 is a kick butt sweat'n good time! Better think about buying the floor mat, otherwise you might leave a stain on the carpet from all of the sweat that pours off of your body...lol! I like how you can adjust the programs within your profile. Great programs to choose from. I love having the two different handle positions during active and rest periods. Grabbing the top handles when going all out during HIIT I feel like I can lean into it and go as hard as possible on a solid machine. I can sure feel the workout in my abs. I like using the wireless heart rate monitor, it's a great way to see your heart rate on the screen so as to keep your heart in the range needed. Below asks if I would recommend this to a friend...I tell everyone about this machine and have a few friends looking to buy one. I look forward to the many years of continued use on my Max Trainer. Thanks Bowflex!

Comments about Bowflex MAX Trainer M5:

I was so excited to use this machine for the MAX interval training. I did it for about two weeks and started seeing results. Then I found out I was pregnant so I couldn't do interval training anymore. Fortunately, there are a few other programs my doctor said I could use on the machine. This machine works so great for my pregnancy. It's low impact and easy to use. I like that I can get such a good workout from home and not have to go to the gym. My doctor is very happy I have it as well. It's an easy way to get and stay in shape.

Both my wife and I use the product virtually daily. We have both found it easy to use, and a nice low impact alternative to our treadmill. We have only had it a couple months, so the jury is still out on effectiveness. My complaints are that the water holder is not conveniently located on the machine; and the only place to put a towel seems to be over the top of the display console.

After dealing with plantar faciatis for a few months and lumbering through my runs, I needed a low impact but challenging machine. The BOWFLEX M5 has fit the bill quite nicely. My foot problem has improved and my conditioning has not suffered. I am still a runner and can not wait to get back out there, however, I can not see my self not using this machine regularly. I have adjusted their programmed MAX program to 45 minutes and its a "Butt Kicker" I love it....

I use the machine on a regular basis, just only issue I had was with the tightness of magnet. Through a long duration of tech support we got the problem fixed. Also the installation is so easy you do not need to pay installation like I did. I helped the guy that had never put one together and we were done in 20 mins.

Comments about Bowflex MAX Trainer M5:

I was a little skeptical to spend $1500.00 on a machine I had never used before but I'm sure happy I did. I used to be an avid runner until I developed Planters Fasciitis a few years ago. Since then I have been working out on a Elliptical 4 to 5 times a week. I saw the advertisement for the M5 and then researched it as much as I could and finally pulled the trigger and I could not be happier. Weather your a novice or a well conditioned athlete this machine is for you. You can work at your own pace or use one of the preprogrammed interval workouts that comes slandered on the M5. The shipping was extremely fast. It only took 10 days. I set the machine up by my self in a little over an hour. A second person would have been helpfully. I'm 52 years old and consider this an outstanding investment.

I love my new M5. It was delivered to me within 3 days of ordering (I was expecting a 3month wait!). It was easy to assemble, but it definitely takes two people because the main body is cumbersome and heavy. It sounds like a fan during use, but I can easily hear the TV or music over it and the breeze it generates feels great!
The workout is intense! I haven't worked up to the MAX workout, yet. I have used the Steady program and Calorie Burn. My legs were SCREAMING for mercy after 3 minutes, but I kept going and that feeling went away, allowing me to get a great workout. It's smooth, feels like a stair stepper, but glides like an elliptical. My knees appreciate it as a break from running!

Comments about Bowflex MAX Trainer M5:

So Far I like the Bowflex Max 5. Assembly was relatively easy but instructions could use some verbiage in some places, not just pictures. The software program should allow the clock and heart rate monitor to function before the programmed workout is started and after the programmed workout is complete. There should also be an option for others to use the machine without being on "user 1's" or "user 2's" profile. I have found the heart rate grips/chest strap do not always capture heart rate even when "troubleshooting" suggestions are followed. A little noisy, but not as bad as others. All in all the Max operates smoothly, has great resistance range and provides a good workout in a short period for days you need a quick workout.

My husband and I are trying to lose weight, we are both very out of shape. My husband is 6' and 290 and I am 5'3" 280, we need low impact for our knees and backs, but something that we can do. We have been looking at a tread climber, but the cost has stopped us. When we saw this product and price we thought is was still a little pricey but affordable. Would this product work for some one just starting out with some serious weight to lose?

                A:

Hi Woody! To ensure the remote heart rate strap you will want to make sure that the back of the transmitter is slightly moist (like from a damp cloth) and that you have it positioned underneath your clothes in the center of your chest just below the bust-line.
