This machine is awesome. Intensity level for the Max interval program can be as tough as you want to make it. After 4 months of heavy use, the 14 min workout is still intense. Two drawbacks are the price and the roller wheels. At $1000, its a bit more spendy than I was originally looking at for an eliptical, however still not the most expensive eliptical on the market. You just have to take a leap of faith as you don't have a chance to try it before you buy it. The roller wheels is the biggest flaw. If not for the design issue, this machine is well build. After a month or two of use, the wheels start to squeek. Bowflex does have a maintenace fix, however i have only seen it as temporary. Bowflex should save face on their almost perfect machine by redesigning the rollersand replacing them. When you pay $1000, you expect better quality.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M3:

I am using the interval training and it is amazing, it really puts you into a heavy sweat after the 14 minute workout. The M3 is very stable, was easy to assemble and does exactly what they say it does, at least for me. The only draw back is the noise it generates.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M3:

I use it as interval training 1 min then push ups 1 min then sit ups and so on for about 25 mins 3 days a week. works my body tremendously. losing weight weekly. I also have 3 different back problems in which my therapist, my doctor and I couldn't find any machine that didn't hurt me. Its been 3 weeks and I have no pain from the max trainer. I cant even walk a half hour without pain but this machine causes none. I'm hoping this continues.

This was easy to set up. Got the Max3. We use everyday, so far. Pretty easy on the lower settings, but on 6-8, it gets difficult, especially for the full 14 minutes. Wife loves it, steadily moving up the levels. I like the Max Interval setting best.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M3:

Let me start by saying I'm 40, 6' 3" & 278 pounds. I haven't been close to 215 for 14 years. I think I am too tall to get a decent workout. It seems like the stride for me is too "short", I'd really feel more "stretch" picking my knees up another 6 inches or so, it just feels like i'm shuffling my feet. I'm sure this designed for the average woman who does 90% of household spending. My wife likes it alot more than I. I just don't think it "fits" me well. I also have it sitting on some mats to protect my feet from cold concrete floors and I get it rocking pretty good. My kids don't have this problem. Again I think this is more a "me" problem than a design flaw. My only real gripe is I wish it had more resistance.

    Max 5 is Great!

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M3:

I purchased the M5 due to the colder weather hindering my outdoor activities. I wanted something with a small foot print and easy to move around. I wanted something durable and more importantly, something that would give me a good workout. Well I received my M5 and it fits the bill. I have to say that the delivery process was not easy, not Bowflex's fault. All of the delivery problems were 100% the result of poor business practices and customer service on behalf of FedEx! If the Bowflex customer service reps were not as great as they were, Amanda & Raymond are GREAT, I would have never accepted the delivery once it finally made it to my house. Enough said on that, now to the machine.

The M5 gives you one heck of a workout. In fact, it took me three workouts to get to the 15 minute point. I could not believe how fast you start to sweat on this thing. I have an elliptigo (an elliptical bike that you ride outdoors). I was up to 32 mile rides during the summer and I sweat more in 15 minutes on my new M5 than I did on those rides. The motion is smooth, easy on my knees and back. They are correct when they say it is ZERO Impact. Although I have only had it a few days now, you know right from the beginning when you have something you will stick with and this is one of those things.

My son and wife have both used it as well. They liked the motion and thought it gave them a great workout. It is amazing the size/height difference the Max Trainers will accommodate. While I realize they are not cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. This is a quality piece of equipment that I believe will last.

I have absolutely nothing I can say that is bad about the Max Trainer. If you like ellipticals and or steppers, then this machine is perfect for you. If you want to keep in shape or need to get into shape the Max Trainer is for you. So, if you are on the fence, just do it… you will not regret it. I looked at these for months and now wish I would have purchased one sooner. The cardio workout you get is incredible and you really can work the entire body on it.

Comments about Bowflex Max Trainer M3:

The Max 3 takes up little space so our Max 3 has found a permanent spot in the living room. Very quiet so we can exercise while watching tv and not disturb anyone else. The foot pads are very comfortable as they are flat, not pitched at an angle like other elipticals I've used. We are very pleased with this product.

Does the machine work without plugging in the AC adapter, or is power required in order to operate the machine?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

To be able to use the resistance and controls, the machine needs to be plugged in. You can use it without the plug, but it's not a very hard workout at all.

        • Q:

Hello, I've been doing a lot of comparing between the M5 & the M3. I was wanting to know if the M3 is made of the same quality materials as the M5 and if the life expectancy of the two machines would be about the same. I find myself favoring the manual resistance adjuster of the M3, but not the year less warranty compared to the M5.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Hi Chris! The M3 and M5 look very, very similar. They are made with the same quality materials. The higher cost of the M5 gives you the longer warranty, but both are outstanding machines.
