This machine did not meet my standards due to the fact that it is hard to keep focused on this machine. The workout is shorter but too intense for the average individual. I would must rather use the TreadClimber, but everyone is different and you have to use what is best for you. I would recommend a product by your company but I think an individual needs to do research before buying.

I love my MAX Trainer! After the first 14 minute workout I could feel a difference. The best part is it only takes 14 minutes to get a great workout and even I have 14 minutes a day to devote to my health. I have been using my MAX Trainer for only 11 days and already I can tell a difference in the way my clothes fit. It is a workout I can stick with and can't wait to see myself 1 month, 2 months, 3 months from now. Thank you BowFlex for making a great product!

Comments about Bowflex MAX Trainer M3:

I have been a dedicated marathon runner for over 10 years. I am 5'4" and have averaged 118lbs for 8 years. The last two years, I gained 5lbs and couldn't seem to take it off. I was committed to losing the added 5lbs so I started the Insanity workout along with my running routine. I was in week 7 of the Insanity CDs (seeing no results)when I herniated a disc. Since then working out has been a struggle but I continue to push on because it is a huge part of my life. I am currently scheduled to go for a fusion on the L5 S1 on April 30th. This will be my 3rd back surgery since May of 2013. I purchased the Max Trainer about 8 weeks ago and it has been the best equipment purchase I have ever made. I am able to get a 60 minute workout in daily without irritating my back. On top of being able to keep my sanity by being able to workout, I have lost 8lbs since purchasing it. I recommend this machine to everyone of all ages and size whether they are a beginner or avid athlete.

Comments about Bowflex MAX Trainer M3:

The M3 is compact and effective in what it delivers. Once you get to grips with the burnrate and resistance levels, this can give you a majorly aerobic workout in a short period of time. Setting up users is not overly intuitive and difficult to do without the manual and the same is true for the Max Interval set up or modification, but once it is done, its a simple and fun workout. Less of an elliptical and more of a stepper, you get your heart pumping very quickly, and boy do your legs know about it too!!! This has quickly become my morning wake up session, and my evening calm down when i get back from work. 3 weeks in and the unit has started to squeeky with every step. I'm sure it just needs some oil somewhere.....just need to find out where. Other than that little niggle, I love it.

Good Morning, is the range for the 8 Resistance Levels the same for the M3 as the 16 levels on the M5? Meaning, is the max setting on the M3 the same degree of difficulty as the M5.

This is a great question! The resistance levels minimum and maximum on the M3 will be the same as those on the M5. The M5 has more range in the levels than the M3 but they are the same at the beginning and the end.

Can you provide some information on the M3"s chest strap monitor? I have carefully looked over your web site and have found no photos or description as to its length connection or how it is maintained out of harm’s way during use of this product. Any indication as to its available functions would also be helpful.

The chest monitor is wireless. The chest strap rests comfortably on your body (goes around your chest) and provides an accurate heart rate.

If I am 70" tall, how much ceiling clearance is required? I know max height of pedal is ~20" but the knee of the upper leg will be bent (lower leg fully extended) during the stride so it is unlikely I will be standing fully upright on the upper pedal at anytime.
